Tips for Choosing Your Next Toothbrush
- Posted on: Dec 30 2014
A good, quality toothbrush is a small investment, but one of the greatest investments you can make in the health and beauty of your smile. Did you know that you should be replacing your toothbrush about 4 times a year? You should also replace your toothbrush any time you suffer an illness that may cause germs to collect in the brush.
When choosing your next toothbrush look for one that:
- Has a compact head design. It may be tempting to opt for the larger toothbrushes on the aisle, however these large brush heads can make it even harder to reach hard to reach corners of the mouth. Choose a brush no longer than 1” in length at the brush head.
- The bristles should be rounded at the top of the brush head and should be sturdy but soft against your gums.
- The handle of your toothbrush should be very comfortable for you to use. If you have arthritis or other problems gripping a toothbrush – consider a wider handled design.
- Choose a brush with an angled handled to help you achieve brushing at the optimal 45-degree angle.
